The
Scatamacchia Funeral was established in Haverhill, Massachusetts
in 1953 by Hugo Scatamacchia. Hugo was a graduate of Haverhill
High School, and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
In 1973, Hugo was joined
in the business by his son Robert Scatamacchia. Robert is a graduate
of Lawrence Central Catholic High School. In 1972, he graduated
from Suffolk University, where he received a Bachelor of Science
in Business Administration. Robert majored in Finance and Banking,
with a minor in Marketing. In 1973 he graduated from New England
Institute of Anatomy and Science with an Associates Degree in
Funeral Service, which was the highest degree offered by the
school. After receiving his license Funeral Directing and Embalming,
Robert was appointed an Instructor in Embalming at the New England
Institute of Anatomy and Science. He has been associated with
the funeral home since 1973.
In
1975, Hugo and Robert were joined in the family business by Stephen
Scatamacchia, the son of Hugo and brother of Robert. Stephen
was a graduate of Haverhill High School, and Bradford College,
where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
He graduated from the New England Institute of Anatomy. He passed
his state licensing exam in 1975.
The Scatamacchia Funeral Home remains
a family owned business, and continues to serve the Greater Haverhill
Community with dignity and distinction.
The professional staff
will assist in all aspects of funeral service such as, at need
planning, pre-need planning and assistance in filing with all
government agencies. The staff can advise and assist in developing
